| There are different processes involved in the
production of a well-finished pashmina products,
from raw wool to the final products. We use eco
friendly inorganic materials and dyes to produce
different types of pashmina products. Main process
of producing a good pashmina product are as follows

Pashmina Wool
The pashmina fiber used by
us is from the high arid regions of Western Tibet.
It is considered to be among the finest in the world.
The Himalayan mountain goat called Chyangra, raised
by semi-nomadic herders, yields from 3-8 ounces
of fiber per year.
The Tibetan Plateau provides the ideal environment
for pashmina growth. The fiber is exceptionally
absorbent, and it dyes very easily and deeply. We
have around 30 Hand looms and 75 skilled labors,
Professional dyers & heart breaking embroiders
who are working to give this diamond fiber a final
touch. |
| |
Spinning Pashmina
Fiber
The fiber is collected every
spring and is spun either by hand or mechanically.
We uses both. Though we make a pure handspun pashmina
blanket and shawl we do not offer it on the web
site because of the irregular supply of yarn. Please
contact us if you are interested in pure handspun
cashmere items. |

Weaving the Pashmina
Our weaving is all done by
handlooms specially made for our work. Most textile
production has been converted to power looms, but
pashmina yarn is too fragile for the force of the
power loom. Our weaving master is from a very long
line of master weavers from tarai of Nepal.
Our other weavers are young Nepali-Tibetan women.
They also do the finishing of the ends on our shawls
and blankets. It takes one person an entire day
to twist and knot the ends of one shawl. |
| |
Checking the Pashmina
Once the weaving is over the
quality of shawl is checked and removed any unwanted
fiber. After the checking the shawl is washed and
cleaned and put out to dry in the sun. |
| |
Dyeing the Pasmina
Dyeing of Pashmina is also
done by hand, each piece individually. Our dyer
have over 30 years experience and infinite patience.
We use Sandoz metal-free and eco-free dyes. This
is the Swiss company's new generation of eco-friendly
dyes.
The Sandoz dyes are very fast and does not run/bled
in light or luke warm water. We dye at a temperature
just below boiling for about 35-40 minutes. The
woven item is first rinsed in hot water, then in
cool water, and finally washed with an Aveda shampoo.
We dye in a range of 250 colors, mostly based on
nature. |
| |
Washing and Drying
After the dyeing is completed
the shawls are sent for mending, this process is
a quality control process, where products are inspected
for faults in weaving and dyeing. The shawl is washed
and cleaned and put out to dry in the sun. |
| |
Ironing and Packing
of Pashmina
The final product is now inspected
for the last time on specially designed tables which
help to highlight flaws not visible to the naked
eye. Once the shawls pass this inspection they are
sent for ironing and packing. |

| We manufacture and supply all kind of pashmina
products as per order. All products can be ordered
as 1 ply and 2 ply. 2 ply means one fiber is wound
around another one before the cloth is woven. |
